The Assessment
The Assessment can take place in your own home , in your child’s school by prearrangement or in a
well-appointed room in an independent facility.

The assessment will take approximately three hours and
will focus on :
-
Information gathered from parents and school on developmental and educational history.
-
Standardised psychometric testing to establish underlying ability
-
-
Standardised testing to investigate phonological awareness, short term auditory and working memory, visual and phonological processing and speed of writing.
-
-
Attainment testing in reading, spelling, reading comprehension and free writing.
-
-
Observations on preferred style of learning
-
-
The results are analysed and a comprehensive and confidential report is provided. A feedback further meeting will be arranged to discuss the assessment.
-
-
The report contains a summary of the findings, identifies dyslexia (where appropriate) and offers recommendations for targeted support. Examination concessions (access arrangements) are evidenced for school submission to examination boards. The report will give a clear profile of strengths and weaknesses.
With appropriate advice, help and support dyslexia should not be a barrier to success and achievement.
